Get Hair Raising Results With a Brow Lift in Sydney

Eyebrows show a lot of expression. We use them to show surprise and anger. They can be flirty, seductive, curious, and angry. The muscles and skin around them gets lifted and lowered repetitively every day, and every year. This movement can lead to sagging which can affect their appearance and even the individual’s ability to see.

What causes sagging skin in the eyebrow area?

Gravity and sun exposure will eventually take a toll on everyone’s aging appearance. Reduced collagen production and a lifetime of facial expressions can result in undesired creases and droopiness. Loose, weakened facial muscles can make you look sad and much older than you might feel. Some people get lucky with youthful genes, but sooner or later, we all suffer the effects of aging.

For improved lines and sagging skin a brow lift in Sydney may be a good treatment choice. A brow lift, or forehead lift, is performed to smooth wrinkles across the forehead and around the eyebrows. It is used to correct loosened skin and hooded eyelids for a younger look. This surgical procedure will enhance the symmetry and overall appearance off your face.

Who is a good candidate for a brow lift?

Anyone displeased with their loose forehead and brow skin may be a good candidate for a brow lift. Non-smoking patients in good health, with no underlying conditions that may hinder healing, are ideal. Candidates also need to have reasonable expectations. This surgery will make you look much younger but it won’t turn back the clock completely. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-surgery and following aftercare instructions is also necessary for optimal results. A/Prof Damian Marucci will review your condition during your consultation.

What happens during the procedure?

Two types of brow lift surgery are available. Each will require general anaesthesia. Dr. Marucci has many years of experience performing both endoscopic and traditional brow lifts. Each will result in smoother, tighter forehead skin. During your consultation Dr. Marucci will discuss these options with you. An endoscopic brow lift involves tiny incisions in the hairline and special instruments to pull and tighten underlying tissue. With a traditional lift, the hidden incision is made under the hair across the crown of the head, from ear to ear. Sutures are used to close the open areas.

What can I expect after brow lift surgery?

Expect some discomfort following your brow lift. After surgery it is normal to experience some degree of swelling and bruising. The area will be bandaged with surgical tape to minimize this response. When necessary, a small tube may be placed to drain excess fluid from the surgical site and reduce swelling. You will be provided with aftercare instructions and any necessary medication before being released.

Strenuous activity should be avoided altogether and your head needs to be kept upright for the first two weeks after your brow lift surgery. It can take anywhere from several weeks to a few months for full healing to be complete.

It is important to follow your aftercare instructions to achieve the best possible results. As the swelling and bruising subsides, a more uplifted version of you will appear.
